It Takes a Village

Aloha CRB Action Kaua’i Friends.

Thanks for joining us to protect Kaua’i from the ravages of CRB.  This is a tough challenge.  It is personal… and it’s about neighborhoods working together.  This beetle moves around, and what we do or don’t do is going to impact everyone around us.

The good news is that the biocontrol is coming, That will be a great help. According to CTARH, where the biocontrol research is happening, it’s going to be two years before it gets to the approval stage, and then it will be deployed.  So, realistically, we are looking at 2028. In the meantime, we have two crucial goals:

  1. Protect our palms.

  2. Reduce beetle pressure.

The CRB Action Kaua’i website is packed with guidance and information from every corner as to how to meet those goals.  After months of meeting with scientists, farmers, nurseries, community leaders, experts, climbers, nonprofits and public agencies, it’s clear that there are a wide range of solutions and that new information continues to emerge.

So, please sign in here now, and encourage others, friends, family and neighbors to join the Action!

Feel free to hit the chat button and ask questions, make comments or suggestions, and we will get back to you.

Warmest wishes,

Merlyn
